Our Ministries

We purpose to equip the saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12) encouraging all towards the good works He has prepared for them. We will entrust the oversight of ministry to faithful men in equipping men for good works. We commit to teach a biblical masculinity and feminity. We will encourage men toward faithful shepherding leadership in the home and in the church (2 Timothy 2:2). Women are encouraged to fulfill their role according to Titus 2:3-5. We hold to an age-integrated philosophy of discipling our young people.

We fully embrace the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). We purpose to equip, train, and encourage the body toward a heart for the lost and a prayerful posture and spiritual readiness to share the gospel boldly (Colossians 4:5-61 Peter 2:93:15). Our desire is that each individual and household would initiate compassionate care and evangelism towards the opportunities God provides them.

Discipleship

The Biblical mandate to discipleship is expressed in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) as central to the work of the church. Under the authority of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we seek to make disciples of all nations by first making disciples here where we live and worship. We focus on the teachings of the Scripture as the definitive authority on all that Jesus commanded us, and with full confidence that he is with us through the indwelling presence of his Holy Spirit.

We focus on the discipleship of the adults within the body, with the understanding that the adults are to do the work of the ministry with the children God has given them in families, as well as other adults that the Lord will send. We seek to disciple the body for the work of the ministry as expressed in Ephesians 4:12.

Women's Ministry

Older women are to teach the younger women what is good, to lead them in the disciplines and life patterns that Scripture provides for godly women, within the context and grace of the gospel. This is so that God may be glorified in their lives, and the Word of God may be upheld. (Titus 2:3-5) As such, the Women's Ministries is a combination of women-led Bible Studies, one-on-one and small group discipleship, special training in various helps and ministry opportunities, as well as in many opportunities to serve with other older and experienced women.

Columbia Bible Institute

Columbia Bible Institute is a bi-weekly class designed to strengthen our understanding of God’s Word, “admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ” Col. 1:28. Encouraged for ages 14 and up, CBI has highlighted Church Doctrine, Church History, New and Old Testament Surveys and Hermeneutics in a 4-year rotation.

Men's Ministry

The men at Columbia Bible Church are seeking to lead their families as Christ has called them to (Ephesians 6:4). Their role the spiritual leader in the home is taken seriously. Accordingly, the men have met together in numerous studies, including John Owen’s ‘Mortification of Sin’, Five Aspects of Man, Fundamentals of Faith, Hermeneutics through II Peter, JC Ryle’s ‘A Call to Prayer’ and Exemplary Husband. The men of CBC are calling each other toward stronger and better equipped leadership through the consistent study and application of God’s Word.

Outreach & Missions

It is the goal of Columbia Bible Church to faithfully carry out the command of Christ's Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Missions are an essential ministry of the church and a vital responsibility of every member as we seek to proclaim Jesus Christ in our community . We are also committed to responsibly use our gifts, talents and resources to share the gospel to the uttermost parts of the world so that God’s church will grow and His name will be glorified.
